Credit Exchange: Entrecards New and Exciting Feature

picture - entrecard logoSo while taking a bit of a glimpse over at Entrecard today after a rough day of card dropping, I noticed a new section on the dashboard called “Exchange Settings”

What are “Exchange Settings”:

By the looks of it, it is a future idea which is being implemented by Entrecard, and what an idea it is! The ability to exchange cash for credits, or credits for cash. Most of you are thinking it is probably a great idea (and I agree, I wouldn’t mind making some money off of my 4,000-6,000 EC that I saved up for this week alone), however there are already a few websites out there currently trying to make a profit off of entrecard/cash trading. Those sites are in some serious trouble if this new feature goes through.

Entrecards new feature - 'Exchange Settings' - this is to trade credits for cash

What does it do right now?

Right now, it does nothing. It is just there currently to gather data on what you think would be the best amount to trade, whether to buy or to sell. It is also noted that Entrecard.com may turn this feature on in the future, without notice! So dig deep and play around with the settings, you never know when you could be getting some money for your credits ;)
Start Your Trades:

For the seasoned blogger who makes a nice earning from other sources, this could be rather pointless. However, for the blogger who just scrapes by to make 1000 credits in a 3-4 days so he can sell off for about $10, it is not so bad. Personally, if I was making more money elsewhere, I’d purchase about 5,000 entrecard credits and advertise everywhere on popular blogs. A lot of “Seasoned” blogs that still bother with entrecard can end up giving you about 100+ views daily. Multiply that by about 30-40 advertisements, that gives you a nice boost. :)
Entrecarders:

Though Entrecard is still rather new, it has gained enormous momentum and profitability. Ads on entrecard.com go for about $3+ using project wonderful (and that is calculated on a day basis, so thats $3+ a day for a single ad spot, when it really has 6 ad spots on the campaign window). Right now, for example, it is at $4.60.

Anyway, Entrecard is coming out with great ideas and is gaining popularity amongst bloggers. It already, in my opinion, surpasses other blogging networks which I have participated in, in the past. So prepare yourselves, new features are coming soon!

Thanks for this post! I’ve only been with Entrecard for a week now and this information is very pertinent to me. I want to know all there is to know about Entrecard!

@ Lynne: I am glad to help :) Entrecard is pretty fun. I gave up on it for a bit and was down to only 10ec to advertise on thinkblogger, and in 4 days managed to get up to 180ec. I am challenging myself to see how high I can get in 14 days ;)

Awesome news. I just found your site through Stumbleupon! I can’t wait to read more of your posts!

Brad(29 February 2008 at 6:32 pm)4

I just started using Entrecard not too long ago. Are there any tips that you can share?

V-man(29 February 2008 at 10:32 pm)5

Oh my. Thank you for posting about this!!! I was just about to try and register a domain for the sole purpose of doing entrecard exchanges. I see it on my dashboard now and I am glad I didnt order. You saved me 9 dollars, hehehe.

Entrecash and Entrecredit will be peeved. Among a few other websites who thought it would be a good idea to register a domain/host specifically for the purpose of exchanging credits/cash on their own site, under their own rules. Burn to them. Go Entrecard.

ThinkBlogger(1 March 2008 at 3:21 am)7

@ Jakers - I e-mailed you with the e-mail you provided :) I will be doing a few posts about entrecard in the near future.

@Brad: I am glad to have helped out Brad :) Welcome to Thinkblogger.

@ Tiff-Tiff. Yeah, I wonder how they will react. ;) Its funny, I noticed it on the 28th RIGHT when they put it up for the first time, but decided to just post it the next day. I could have had the info up just as they were writing it up in their blog.

Wow, thanks for the post. I didn’t even notice this and I was logged in for most of the day :) Now, what price do I set mine at?

I am not impressed with this idea at all, I mean trading of your Entrecard Credits ohh come on, there are so many other smart ways to make money online on internet, one should not rush and drop card like a mad dog and then sell them for money.

That’s what’s cool about Entrecard. It is continuously updating and adding new features. What the public wants, Graham and Phirate will try to accommodate within reason.

I saw this as well and I’m looking forward to it working. I often find myself with piles of credits and not enough time to spend them. Or vice versa.
